The University of Reading’s Estates & Facilities required an asset register to record all University-standard external wayfinding signs on its campuses. The register allows Estates & Facilities to track the condition of signs and note which signs need to be repaired or replaced. This was one of the recommendations in my wayfinding handover report to the University.
Work included site visits to collect data and work with a junior designer to photograph and tag each identified sign. I created zone maps and annotated maps showing all wayfinding and related signs on the University’s two main campuses.
I supplied the final data (e.g. sign type, location, condition and asset number) in MS Excel so that it could be added to a database.
