Health Centre internal wayfinding

Apply aspects of the University of Reading’s wayfinding policy to the University Health Centre. The Health Centre wayfinding signs needed to be more legible and professional.

Carry out a wayfinding audit to assess the types, amounts and locations of signs required then propose new signs. Draft specifications in MS Word to request supplier quotes for budgeting.

Proposal consisted of a photo-based report and annotated building plans showing sign types and general locations. Recommendations included new projecting location signs to assist wayfinding along narrow corridors; clear room number and name location signs on all doors; and a direction sign and/or floorplan directory at the end of each corridor to help orient patients.

After approval by the client’s team, request updated supplier quotes then provide specifications, supplier instructions and artwork for identified signs. Answer supplier queries, oversee installation and ensure project completion on behalf of the Health Centre.
