I worked on over 115 external and internal wayfinding projects of varying scale for the University of Reading, covering the University’s estates holdings and three of its campuses. Most of these projects involved information planning, and design and artwork for maps and signs for the University’s 130-hectare Whiteknights parkland campus.
In 2013 I handed over the reins to the University’s design studio. I prepared wayfinding handover materials including two short A4 wayfinding reports, past project files, sign specifications, project methodology, and artwork instructions to enable the University to update existing maps and signs and extend the system.
The reports codified my work with the University on their external and internal wayfinding and signage policy. This included signage systems (types and physical specifications) and examples of my designs for the University’s signs and maps.
